NEW FEATURE: Pass Me the Aux Cord

*Introducing “Pass Me The Aux Cord,” which features songs I consider hot enough to receive heavy rotation in my whip from week to week.

What’s playing the week of 7/26/15 to 8/1/15?

Back to Back Freestyle – Drake

The beef between Drake and Meek Mill surrounding alleged ghostwriting rumors has been the topic of discussion on social media for the last few days. Drake released a calm response to all the “tweef” from Meek Mill last Saturday called “Charged Up,” but also decided to release this banger early Wednesday morning without giving Meek a fair chance to fire back. With the recent beef between Drake and Meek Mill heating up, who can resist a hot track that’s all a hot topic?! Drizzy not only delivered some heavy hitting punchlines, but also gave me a diss track I want to twerk to. The cover art is a jab in itself featuring a picture of the Toronto Blue Jays celebrating their back to back World Series win against the Phillies. Just gonna sit here and wait for Meek’s response with A.I. as the cover art, whenever he stops tweeting.

Notable Quotables: ” I waited 4 days nigga, where yall at?/I drove here in the Wraith playin AR-AB/I’m not sure what it was that really made yall mad/But I guess this what I gotta do to make yall rap”

“Is that a world tour or your girl’s tour?/I know that you gotta be a thug for her/This ain’t what she meant when she told you to open up more/Yeah, trigger fingers turn to twitter fingers/Yeah, you gettin bodied by a singin nigga/I’m not the type of nigga that’ll type to niggas/And shoutout to all my boss bitches wife-in niggas/Make sure you hit him with the prenup/Then tell that man to ease up”

Freak Hoe – Future

As a Future Hive member since 2012, I was so excited to see Future gain big buzz over the success of his last 3 mixtapes as well as his latest album DS2, which released on July 17th. Future kept his heat streak going with his album debuting at #1, selling a total of 151,000 copies to date. This track was an instant favorite of mine and I’m anticipating it to be the next radio single or club banger. This isn’t the only hot song on the album though. DS2 gets no skips in my car, sensational.

Notable Quotables: “My Cuban links(linx) bigger than a Wu Tang/lil nigga take ya head off for a new chain”

Twist My Fingaz – YG

YG released his new single for his sophomore album, “Still Krazy” the same day as DS2 and was unfortunately overshadowed by the hype. This track still gets plenty of love with me since I’m a sucker for that old school G-funk west coast sound. Terrace Martin produced another Bompton gem for YG and is known for his work on his first album, ‘My Krazy Life.” Not sure if this single could be as successful as “My Nigga,” but it makes me wanna throw up some questionable hand gestures and bust a move, so he’s doing something right!

Notable Quotables: “I heard they wanna do a background check/ I gotta mil’ in the cut, that’s a background check (ZAAAAMNNNN)”
