These days everyone wants to do it for “the gram” and stunt on social media, selling a lifestyle THEY can’t even afford themselves. I scroll down my timeline and see people posing next to cars and can’t drive, holding cash to their ear but didn’t pay the phone bill, and claiming they’re too creative for a 9-5 but have .95 cents to their name. Actually, I might be guilty of the last one, which is bad considering I have 2 jobs. Nevertheless, leading a luxurious life that looks good in pictures is a never ending concept. But I’m ready to see something that’s actually worth scrolling through on my phone for. And as a sneakerhead, what’s more drool-worthy than designer kicks?
Take a look at a few foreign kicks that I consider picture perfect.
Balenciaga – Race Runner Colorblock Sneaker
Balenciaga and their classic colorbock race runners give me a run for my money every time. This sneaker is not only a perfect mesh of various shades of blue, but also a harmonious blend of mixed media using satin, leather, and suede for that luxury look. These J Brand “Alana” skinny jeans give this sneaker the attention it deserves with a double stacked hem that’s cropped above the ankle.
The Race Runners also look sporty AND summery in one of their newer colorways with orange and white.
Valentino – Open Butterfly Platform Sneaker
Putting a little bit of UMPH in it are these pumped up kicks by Valentino Garavani with a dope platform. The beaded and stitched butterfly appliques make this shoe extra fly, along with Valentino’s signature Rockstud trim on the heel. You can’t keep your eyes of these! Paired with the “Roxanne” ankle jeans from 7 For All Mankind, you can especially bring focus on your feet with it’s frayed hem detail.
adidas by Stella McCartney – Ultra Boost Knit Trainer Sneaker
Playful and chic, Stella McCartney’s collaboration with adidas is where aesthetic meets athletic wear. Her prints are always playful as you can see in her version of the adidas Ultra Boost sneaker and this colorful knit featured above. So comfy and so cute!
Gucci – New Ace Sneaker (also shown: Gucci “More” Sneaker in Metallic Gold)
Gucci’s “Ace” sneaker is an absolute fan favorite. Gucci finds a way to keep things fun over and over again with this clean and simple silhouette design by adding all kinds of appliques and accent colors to accentuate this shoe.
The fur-trimmed version has fierce and fabulous written all over it.
Fendi – Pearland Leather Sneaker with FF Strap
Made in Italy, the Pearland Leather Sneaker by Fendi are butter-soft and beautiful. 😍The logo strap makes this shoe a must-have with Fendi’s logo print being one of the biggest tends in fashion currently, as seen on Nicki Minaj, Jhene Aiko and more.
Fendi – Knit Trainer with Rubber Strap🗣️
“GET THE STRAP!” Also from Fendi is their take on the current sock-knit trend in one of their latest designs.
Christian Louboutin – AC Viera Spikes Sneaker
“These is Red Bottoms, these is bloody shoes!” Make money moves in these Louboutin kicks. You’ll be looking like “shmoney” with the gold metallic trim found on the laces and the embossed gold on the leather. You can dress them up or keep them casual like I did in these Rag & Bone “Dre” boyfriend jeans. You can also keep a hater far from stepping on your toes featuring gold spikes on the front of the sneaker.
Versace – Chain Reaction Sneaker
Rapper 2 Chainz is not only known for his verses but also known for his well-versed sense of fashion. Rocking everything from vintage Gucci to Givenchy fresh off the runway, 2 Chainz stays saucy dripped in designer. So much that he joined forces with fashion house Versace for a trainer that’s luxury every step of the way. On this sneaker you’ll find wax-coated laces, a neoprene upper with a Greca lace cage, Greca midsole, and a chain-link outsole.
Now that’s what the fuck I call a chain reaction.
