While Rihanna is busy building her FENTY brand through cosmetics, couture, and more, she doesn’t seem to have time for releasing new music. It’s only been 1401 days ..200 weeks.. 2,017,440 minutes since her last album, but who’ counting?!
Although Bad Gal RiRi hasn’t blessed us with a bop lately, she’s got plenty to chose from already. Over an assortment of 8 albums, Rihanna has a body of work that fits just about every mood possible.
With a catalog full of different characteristics, see which Rihanna project perfectly fits your personality below.
Music of the Sun
If you’re most like “Music of the Sun,” you’re someone who’s just as sweet, charming, and carefree as Rihanna was on her debut. Fans instantly fell for her Caribbean fused flavor on “Music of the Sun” despite the confusing reviews critics gave. Lovers of this album are likely to be energetic and lively, as it was packed with pop dance hits such as “Pon De Replay” and “If It’s Lovin’ that You Want.” Your presence is captivating and electric as people tend to stick around for more of you.
A Girl Like Me
“A Girl Like Me” speaks to those of you who are comfortable showing a softer side. You’re sentimental and gentle. On Rihanna’s sophomore album were lots of ballads, including the infamous “We Ride” and “Unfaithful.” She set her sights on subtle instrumentation with strings and strummy guitars on songs this time around. While Rihanna got more personal, she still kept it pop with “SOS” and “Break It Off.” A girl (or guy) like you plays it safe too.
Good Girl Gone Bad
Rihanna’s “Good Girl Gone Bad” is her most pivotal project as she shed her innocent image and freed herself from a facade that held her back. Much like this moment in time, you are thrill seeking and edgy. You take a walk on the wild side with an approach that screams unique and unorthodox. Songs like “Breakin Dishes,” “Shut Up and Drive” and “Sell Me Candy” are most likely to unearth that inner bad girl.
Rated R
What does the “R” in Rated R say about those who tend to take to this album the most? You’re real, raw, and rough, to say the least. Rihanna rose above her hard times after a public and painful domestic abuse case in 2009, pouring it all out in this project. Similar to the album, you have a dark side that gets deep. Her music had bit of a morbid feel with songs such as “Roussian Roulette” and “Cold Case Love.” But despite being down, you’re determined not to be out. Rihanna asserted herself on the album as well with “Hard,” “Rockstar 101” and “Rudeboy” as some of her standout singles that sent a message to stand tall.
LOUD
Fun and fiery are words that describe you if you’re a fan whose favorite is “LOUD.” You’re often considered playful and bold as Rihanna was in this era rocking her red hair for the album cover and around the time of its release. You’re someone who shows off their sexy and celebrates it, much like the songs “What’s My Name? (featuring Drake),” “Skin” and “S&M” found on the album. You probably party hard like RiRi does with “Cheers (Drink to That)” or “Raining Men” as your anthem. You’re also expressive and effervescent as the ballads are on “LOUD” as Rihanna explained her frustrations on many including “Fading,” California King Bed,” and “Complicated.” An album such as this creates a vivid picture of someone who’s simply vibrant.
Talk That Talk
Those that embody “Talk That Talk” are full out freaky and flirty. Songs found on the album show a side to love and sex that’s hot, heavy, and also heartfelt. “Watch n Learn,” “Birthday Cake,” “Roc Me Out” and “Cockiness (Love It)” are a few songs that relinquish that raunchiness as Rihanna leaves room for romance on tracks like “Drunk on Love” and “You da One.” You wear your heart on your sleeve and ready to bust it open for the right one, W I D E open.
Unapologetic
If your attitude is anything like the Unapologetic album, you’re boisterous and brash. Fans who find themselves with this one as their fav are full of the same bravado Bad Girl RiRi showcases throughout her songs on it. Tracks like “Phresh Off the Runway,” “Pour It Up,” and “Nobody’s Business (featuring Chris Brown)” brought out her big braggadocio and do the same for you. Rihanna embraced an electronic feel in the production for the album. The heavy bass and synth sounds pump you up feeling loud and proud.
ANTI
ANTI spoke to its name quite well being everything a “Pop” album ISN’T. A listener that covets this album near and dear to them is a rebellious soul. They go beyond barriers and break the mold, as Rihanna blended and borrowed a little of everything. Ri revolutionized the pop sound embracing elements of rock (“Woo”), reggae (“Work [featuring Drake]” ), and R&B (“Kiss It Better”) in different songs. One who embraces ANTI the most is a tough one that’s still tender. Rihanna doubled up displaying two sides to her. The side that was dismissive was shown on songs like “Needed Me,” with another side that describes her distinct yearn for love on “Higher” and “Desperado.”
So, which Rihanna album are you? A Girl Like Me is definitely an Unapologetic type.
Don’t be ANTI. Tell me yours in a comment and Talk That Talk.
